别再用wait a moment了!
Wait a moment?
Just a moment.
Just a second.
give me a second- Could you please do me a favor?
- Just a moment/ second.
give me a second
hold on/ hang on- Could you help me clean room 222, please?
- Give me a second, please.
hold on/ hang on
bear with meHold on a second. I'll just get my notes.
Please bear with me for a minute, and you'll see what I mean.
What are you waiting for是什么意思?
What are you waiting for,你可别傻乎乎地回答你要干什么,他是让你立刻去办。
What are you waiting for字面意思是你在等什么,实际意思:还等什么,赶紧去办啊!
例句:
Well, what are you waiting for? Go and finish your work!
wait on tables
She waited on tables to pay for college.
PS:wait on tables可以省略on,变成wait tables。
No waiting =
The sign by the side of the road said "No waiting!"
No waiting:
No stopping:
