Russian mine blast

A devastating explosion in a Siberian coal mine Thursday left 52 miners and rescuers dead about 250 meters (820 feet) underground, Russian officials said.

Hours after a methane gas explosion and fire filled the mine with toxic fumes, rescuers found 14 bodies but then were forced to halt the search for 38 others because of a buildup of methane and carbon monoxide gas from the fire. Another 239 people were rescued.

The Battle at Lake Changjin becomes highest-grossing film in China

As of Thursday morning, the total box office of the Chinese war epic "The Battle at Lake Changjin" has reached a whopping 5.695 billion yuan (about 890 million U.S. dollars), according to official data.

国家电影局数据显示，截至11月25日上午，国产战争史诗电影《长津湖》总票房已高达56.95亿元。

Surpassing the box office revenue generated by China's 2017 action blockbuster "Wolf Warrior 2," the domestic war epic film has become China's new all-time box office dominator.

哀牢山失联地质人员遇难

Missing geological workers in Ailao Mountains confirmed dead

The four geological workers reported missing since Nov 13 in the Ailao Mountains in Yunnan province were confirmed dead when three of them were found Sunday night and the other was found on Monday morning, the Zhenyuan county government said on Monday.

At around 7:30 pm on Nov 15, the county government received a report that the four staff members of the Kunming Natural Resources Comprehensive Survey Center of China Geological Survey had lost contact with the center since they entered the Ailao Mountains on Nov 13 in the county.

11月13日，中国地质调查局昆明自然资源综合调查中心的4名工作人员进入镇沅县哀牢山山区开展野外作业。15日上午7时30分许，镇沅县政府接报，4名工作人员失联。

The local government carried out rescue work and over 3,700 rescuers from the county and nearby Yuxi city have joined the work in the past days, CCTV News reported.
