译词 | “刷题”“刷剧”“刷屏”... 各种“刷”用英文怎么说？
在日常生活中，我们都喜欢有事没事“刷手机”，在休闲的时候“刷剧”，在付钱的时候“刷卡”，在考试前习惯“刷题”...
这么多的“刷”，在英语里是否都是同一个动词呢？

考前刷题，是为了迅速记住大量知识，我们可以用immerse in (doing exercises)。
例句：
He is immersed in CET-4．
他在刷四级考试题。
此外，还可以用“hit”来表示。
例句：
I spent the entire holiday hitting the books.
我整个假期都在用功读书。
注意，如果你前期准备不充分，临时抱佛脚，可以使用cram for，表示迅速学习大量知识（为考试做准备）。
英文解释：
If you are cramming for an examination, you are learning as much as possible in a short time just before you take the examination.
例句：
I have to cram for my chemistry test next week.
我得为下周的化学考试刷题学习了。
“刷剧”用browse？浏览剧？根本不能体现刷剧的热情！一般用这个词：binge，指放纵的行为。

binge eating 暴食
刷剧可以说binge-watch，表示放纵看剧停不下来。
例句：
It's the third time we binge-watched the 4th season of Desperate Housewives.
我们已经三刷《绝望主妇》第四季了。
人是主角时，可以自己 browse 或者 binge-watch。但刷屏的主角都是新闻，上面两种用法就不合理。
1. go viral
新闻 "刷屏" 可以用这个表达：go viral，指病毒式的传播。
例句：
The news they got a divorce went viral in the morning.
他们离婚的消息早上刷屏了。
2. take over
take over也可以表示刷屏，有充满、充斥的意思。
英文解释：
If one thing takes over from something else, it becomes more important, successful, or powerful than the other thing, and eventually replaces it.

3. flood
flood有挤满、使淹没、使充斥的意思，也可以表示信息泛滥的状态。
英文解释：
If you flood a place with a particular type of thing, or if a particular type of thing floods a place, the place becomes full of so many of them that it cannot hold or deal with any more.

"刷淘宝、刷抖音"英语怎么说？这里的“刷”意思是浏览、看（停不下来的那种），翻译成英文简单说就是browse，指浏览。
例句：
I am browsing Taobao.
我正刷淘宝。
如果强调看到停不下来，可以用be addicted to，指沉迷、上瘾。
例句：
Many people are addicted to TikTok.
很多人都喜欢刷抖音。
或者直接说：
He spent the whole afternoon on WeChat Moments.
他刷了整下午的微信朋友圈。
大家可能经常会以为“刷卡”的动作与英文的swipe是对等的，后来才发现，swipe card其实是指读卡器有卡槽的那种。
对于那种将卡放在读卡器上就能读写数据的情况，swipe真不一定就是“刷卡”，另一个动词可能更合适：tap。
在英文里，有“Tap & Go”这种用法。
