Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Thursday stressed the importance of cooperation in the face of world economic headwinds, at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia, which is running through Friday in China's Hainan Province.

国务院总理李克强3月28日出席博鳌亚洲论坛2019年年会开幕式。在开幕式上，李克强强调，面对世界经济下行压力，各方应加强合作。此次博鳌亚洲论坛在海南举行，将持续至3月29日。

 

"In face of world economic headwinds, no country can stay immune or resolve all the problems on its own. It's imperative to seek an inclusive path of mutually beneficial cooperation. We need to embrace the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind," according to Li.

李克强表示，面对世界经济下行压力等共同挑战，没有哪个国家能够独善其身。各方应共同抓住机遇，寻求互利合作的双赢、多赢之道；要携手实现共同发展。

 

"China's economy has been operating steadily since the beginning of the year, with positive changes emerging and market expectations being improved. China will not resort to massive economic stimulus to boost growth, but will continue to open up and innovate to energize market players and strengthen endogenous impetus for economic development."

李克强表示，今年以来，中国经济稳定运行出现一些积极变化，市场预期得到明显改善。我们将保持战略定力，不会实施“大水漫灌”式强刺激政策，将坚定不移依靠改革开放创新，激发市场主体活力，增强内生发展动力。

Representatives from various ethnic groups and walks of life gathered in the Potala Palace square in Lhasa Thursday to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the campaign of democratic reform in Tibet.

Tibet has made historic achievements and undergone tremendous changes since the democratic reform that started 60 years ago, said Wu Yingjie, Communist Party of China (CPC) chief of Tibet Autonomous Region.

Canadian police say a Chinese student who was abducted in the Toronto area has been found.

Cambridge corrects reports on acceptance of China's college entrance exam

The University of Cambridge has issued a statement confirming that it has been accepting scores from China's college entrance exams for several years now.

The statement, posted on the University of Cambridge's Sina Weibo account, comes after media reports suggested that the university recently announced its acceptance of the Gaokao scores.

Earlier reports claimed students whose scores rank above 0.1% in their provinces can apply for undergraduate studies at the university.
