On August 24, 2022, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory letters with President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Yoon Suk-yeol to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

习近平指出，中韩是隔海相望的永久近邻，两国人民友好交往源远流长。中韩建交30年来，在双方共同努力下，中韩关系与时俱进全方位发展，取得丰硕成果，给两国和两国人民带来重大福祉，也为地区乃至世界和平与发展作出重要贡献。

Xi Jinping pointed out, China and the ROK are always close neighbors facing each other across the sea, and our two peoples have always enjoyed longtime friendly exchanges. Over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the ROK, with the joint efforts of both sides, China-ROK relationship has progressed with the times and developed in an all-round manner. It has achieved fruitful outcomes, delivered tangible well-being to the two countries and the two peoples, and as well made important contributions to peace and development in the region and the world.

习近平指出，三十载沧海桑田，三十载春华秋实。中韩关系之所以能取得辉煌发展成就，在于双方坚持登高望远，顺应时代发展潮流，不断为双边关系注入新的时代内涵；在于双方坚持互尊互信，照顾彼此核心利益和重大关切，通过真诚沟通增进理解与信任；在于双方坚持合作共赢，深化互利合作与交流互鉴，实现相互成就、共同繁荣；在于双方坚持开放包容，携手维护地区和平稳定，促进区域融合发展，维护国际关系基本准则。这些宝贵经验值得我们倍加珍惜和长期坚持。

Xi Jinping pointed out that the past 30 years have undergone great changes and witnessed spring flowers and autumn harvest year by year. China-ROK relations have made glorious achievements in development, and the key is that the two sides have adhered to foresight, been consistent with the trend of our times, and kept enriching bilateral relations in the new era; the key is that the two sides have adhered to mutual respect and mutual trust, accommodated each other's core interests and major concerns, and increased understanding and trust through sincere communication; the key is that the two sides have adhered to win-win cooperation, deepened mutually beneficial cooperation and exchanges and mutual learning, and helped each other succeed and achieve common prosperity; and the key is that the two sides have adhered to openness and inclusiveness, and joined hands in safeguarding regional peace and stability, advancing integrated regional development, and upholding basic norms governing international relations. The precious experience deserves to be all the more cherished and we should be committed to it over the long term.

习近平强调，当前，百年变局和世纪疫情交织，世界进入新的动荡变革期。在这一关键时刻，包括中韩在内的国际社会只有同舟共济、团结合作才能战胜危机、渡过难关。中韩要做好邻居、好朋友、好伙伴。我高度重视中韩关系发展，愿同尹锡悦总统加强战略沟通，引领中韩双方以建交30周年为新起点，把握大势、排除干扰、夯实友好、聚焦合作，共创两国关系更加美好的未来，更好造福两国和两国人民。

Xi Jinping stressed that currently, with the combined impact of changes and a pandemic both unseen in a century, the world enters a new period of turbulence and transformation. At this critical moment, the international community, including China and the ROK, can only defeat crises and tide over difficulties by embracing solidarity and cooperation. China and the ROK should be good neighbors, good friends, and good partners. I attach great importance to the development of China-ROK relations, and stand ready to work with President Yoon Suk-yeol to strengthen strategic communication, and lead the Chinese side and the ROK side to take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as a new starting point to grasp the overall trend, remove disruption, consolidate friendship, and focus on cooperation, to jointly create a brighter future of bilateral relations, and deliver more benefit to the two countries and the two peoples.

尹锡悦在贺函中对韩中建交30周年致以热烈祝贺。他表示，韩中两国地缘相近，历史文化纽带关系悠久。1992年建交以来，双方政治、经济、文化等领域合作取得跨越式发展，两国战略合作伙伴关系不断巩固。两国年贸易额增长近50倍，人员往来增加数十倍，丰富多彩的文化交流增进了两国国民相互理解。这主要得益于两国各界努力和国民支持。我和习近平主席3月25日通话时就以两国建交30周年为契机推动韩中关系实现新发展达成重要共识。希望双方以相互尊重精神为基础，探索新的合作方向，推动两国关系朝着更加成熟健康的方向发展。为此，希望双方密切高层交往，加强供应链等经济安全及环境、气变等领域实质性合作，推动取得两国国民能切身感受到的成果。希望建交30周年纪念活动能进一步促进两国交流合作，深化两国国民之间的友谊。

Yoon Suk-yeol in his congratulatory letter extended warm congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the ROK and China. He said that the ROK and China enjoy geographical proximity and time-honored bond relations in history and culture. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, both sides have achieved leap-forward development in cooperation in politics, economy, culture, and other fields, and the strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries has been continuously consolidated. The annual trade volume between the two countries has grown by almost 50 times, personnel inter-flow has increased by dozens of times, and various cultural exchanges have enhanced mutual understanding between the two peoples. This mainly benefits from efforts of every walk of life and the people of the two countries. During the call on March 25, I and President Xi Jinping reached important consensus on taking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to work towards the new development of ROK-China relations. I hope that both sides will build on the spirit of mutual respect to explore new directions of cooperation and promote the development of bilateral relations in a more mature and sounder manner. To that end, I hope that both sides maintain close high-level exchanges, strengthen substantive cooperation in supply chains, and other fields of economy and security, environment, and climate change, and make tangible achievements recognized by the two peoples. I hope that the commemorating events for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations will further promote the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and deepen the friendship between the two peoples.

同日，国务院总理李克强同韩国国务总理韩德洙互致贺电。李克强表示，中韩是搬不走的永久近邻，也是分不开的合作伙伴。中方愿同韩方一道，以建交30周年为新起点，增进理解互信，深化交流合作，推动中韩战略合作伙伴关系健康稳定发展，取得新的更大成就。韩德洙表示，韩国新政府成立以来韩中两国保持着密切沟通交流。期待双方进一步活跃高层交往，加强供应链、文化、环保等领域合作，加快推进两国自贸协定第二阶段谈判，推动两国关系实现更好发展。

On the same day, Premier Li Keqiang exchanged congratulatory messages with ROK Prime Minister Han Duck-soo. Li Keqiang expressed that China and the ROK are always close neighbors and inseparable cooperation partners. The Chinese side stands ready to work with the ROK side to take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as a new starting point to increase understanding and mutual trust, deepen exchanges and cooperation, promote the development of the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership in a sound and steady manner, and make more new achievements. Han Duck-soo noted that since the formation of the new ROK government, the ROK and China have maintained close communication and exchanges. I expect that the two sides will further deepen high-level exchanges, strengthen cooperation in supply chains, culture, environment, and other fields, accelerate the second-phase negotiations on the free trade agreement between the two countries, and work towards better development of bilateral relations.
