Chinese tech giant Huawei on Monday launched new laptops that run on the company's self-developed operating system, HarmonyOS, marking a significant breakthrough for China's domestic software ecosystem.

5月19日，中国科技巨头华为正式发布搭载其自主研发的鸿蒙系统笔记本电脑，标志着国产软件生态体系的重大突破。

The company unveiled two HarmonyOS-based PCs: the MateBook Pro and a foldable model expanding its MateBook Fold lineup. The MateBook Fold Extraordinary Master – Huawei's first PC with a foldable form factor – is deemed as the world's lightest commercial foldable laptop and the largest commercial foldable-screen device to date.

The U.S. Donald Trump administration on Thursday revoked Harvard University's certification under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), effectively barring the institution from enrolling new international students.

美国政府22日宣布取消哈佛大学获得的学生和交流学者项目资质，禁止该校招收国际学生。

U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced the decision. "Let this serve as a warning to all universities and academic institutions across the country," Noem said in a statement. "Enrolling international students is a privilege -- not a right -- and that privilege has been revoked due to Harvard's repeated failure to comply with federal law."

美国国土安全部部长克里斯蒂·诺姆宣布了这一决定。诺姆在一份声明中表示：“此举是对全国所有大学和学术机构的警告。招收国际学生是一项特权，而非权利，哈佛因屡次违反联邦法律，这一特权已被撤销。”

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) decided on Monday to thoroughly investigate the Chinese table tennis star Wang Chuchin's racket damage incident during the pre-match inspection for the mixed doubles second round at the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships in Doha.

国际乒乓球联合会（以下简称“国际乒联”）19日决定，对中国乒乓球选手王楚钦在多哈举行的世界乒乓球团体锦标赛混双第二轮赛前检查中出现的球拍损坏事件展开彻底调查。

Before Wang and his partner Sun Yingsha took on the Brazilian team of Hugo Calderano and Bruna Takahashi, Wang found part of rubber came off the blade and Chinese coach Xiao Zhan questioned the umpire if anyone had mishandled Wang's racket. The umpire answered that no one had intentionally torn the rubber and allowed Wang to use his backup racket.

Chinese actor Xin Baiqing announced on Wednesday the passing of his wife Zhu Yuanyuan, a celebrated actress in China. According to the obituary, "Yuanyuan left us forever at 11:39 am on May 17, 2025. Throughout her nearly five year battle with cancer, she confronted challenges without pessimism, maintaining steadfast resolve and self-assurance."
