中国成功发射可重复使用试验航天器

China launches reusable experimental spacecraft

China on Friday successfully launched a reusable experimental spacecraft using a Long March-2F carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northwest of the country.

8月5日，我国在酒泉卫星发射中心，运用长征二号F运载火箭，成功发射一型可重复使用的试验航天器。

After a period of in-orbit operation, the spacecraft will return to its scheduled landing site in China. It will test reusable technologies and in-orbit service technologies as planned during its flight, providing technological support for the peaceful use of space.

试验航天器将在轨运行一段时间后，返回国内预定着陆场，其间，将按计划开展可重复使用和在轨服务技术验证，为和平利用太空提供技术支撑。

The launch was the 18th mission of the Long March-2F carrier rockets.  

这是长征二号F运载火箭第18次执行发射任务。

The project has three branches in the cities of Xi'an, Hangzhou and Guangzhou, and opening activities were also held in these locations on the same day.

Yellow alert for high temperatures

China's national observatory on Sunday continued to issue a yellow alert for high temperatures as an intense heatwave lingers in many regions of the country.

During daylight hours on Monday, parts of Xinjiang, Shaanxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Zhejiang, and Fujian are expected to experience temperatures of over 35 degrees Celsius, the National Meteorological Center said.

8月1日白天，新疆南疆盆地、陕西、湖北、湖南、四川、重庆、广东、广西、浙江、福建等地有35℃以上高温天气。 

Temperatures in parts of Sichuan and Chongqing may surpass 40 degrees Celsius.

The center advised the public to avoid outdoor activities during high-temperature periods in the afternoon and suggested workers exposed to high temperatures or who work for a long time outdoors take necessary protective measures.

国家气候中心建议，公众午后尽量减少户外活动；高温条件下作业和白天需要长时间进行户外露天作业的人员应当采取必要的防护措施。

China has a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.

日本一核电站内部泄漏

Japanese nuclear power plant leaks

About seven tons of water containing radioactive elements leaked from the third reactor of the Mihama nuclear power plant in Fukui Prefecture, central Japan, The Nikkei reported on Monday, citing the operator Kansai Electric Power Co.

The over 40-year-old reactor is currently out of service, and the company is investigating whether the leak will affect the reactor's scheduled restart in mid-August.
