The 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos, opened on Tuesday in Tianjin, drawing around 1,800 participants from across the globe, the highest attendance in recent years.

6月24日，世界经济论坛第十六届新领军者年会（夏季达沃斯论坛）在天津举办。本届参会人数创下历年之最，来自世界各地的1800余名嘉宾齐聚这一盛会。

China to host grand military parade on Sept 3

China will hold a military parade in Tian'anmen Square in downtown Beijing on September 3 to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, according to a press conference held by China's State Council Information Office on Tuesday. 

6月24日，国务院新闻办举行发布会，介绍中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利80周年纪念活动总体安排。发布会上，发言人宣布，2025年9月3日将在北京天安门广场举行纪念中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利80周年大会。

President Xi Jinping will review the troops during the parade, which will be part of a grand gathering to commemorate the anniversary, the Xinhua News Agency reported. 

据新华社消息，中国国家主席习近平将出席纪念活动，包括检阅部队。

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will deliver a speech at the gathering, according to Xinhua. 

中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平将在大会上发表重要讲话。

The military parade will feature marching formations, armored columns and aerial echelons, showcasing both traditional main battle forces and new-domain forces with new combat capabilities, said Wu Zeke, a senior officer of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, per Xinhua.

据新华社消息，中央军委联合参谋部高级官员吴泽棵在会上介绍说，这次阅兵由徒步方队、装备方队和空中梯队组成，既有传统主战力量展示，又有新域新质力量参阅。

Chinese basketball player Yang Hansen became the 16th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and is headed to the Portland Trail Blazers, who traded down with the Memphis Grizzlies.

在2025年美国职业篮球联赛（NBA）新秀选拔大会中，波特兰开拓者队用从孟菲斯灰熊队交易得到的第16号签，选中中国篮球运动员杨瀚森。

"I'm happy, and I'm excited," Yang told China Daily.

He became the ninth Chinese player ever drafted into the NBA, and the first since 2016 to enter the league through the draft.

Iran will hold an official funeral on Saturday in Tehran for top military commanders and scientists who were killed during the 12-day war with Israel, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA.
